Telikin and SeniorNet Partner To Bring Easy To Use Computers To Senior Citizens

CHALFONT, Pa., June 4, 2012- Telikin has announced they will be partnering with SeniorNet, the nation's largest non profit organization specializing in computer and internet education for adults over 55 and those in need.

With more than 60 Learning Centers, six of which are located on American Indian Reservations, SeniorNet relies on the generous support of sponsors like AT&T, IBM, Verizon, Microsoft, Adobe and US Department of the Interior Office of Indian Energy and Economic Development (IEED), to provide the tools that have allowed more than a million people to learn new skills and explore the digital world.

“We share SeniorNet's commitment to helping seniors learn computing and are very excited for the opportunity to have Telikin computers be part of their centers”

Telikin is committed to helping people who are computer novices connect with family, friends and the world. As part of their Telikin Cares Program, Telikin donates computers to organizations and communities who are committed to teaching seniors computing skills. As part of this commitment, several SeniorNet centers have received Telikin computers, to help introduce seniors to computing using the state of the art, easy to use, touchscreen, Linux based computer. They are exploring the use in centers across the country.

"Telikin is a solution for consumers looking for a simple, yet fully functional computer that allows them to enjoy video chat, photosharing, email, and social media, games, word processing, entertainment and more, minus the viruses, pop-ups, and overwhelming number and costs of applications", said Fred Allegrezza, Founder and CEO of Telikin. "We share SeniorNet's commitment to helping seniors learn computing and are very excited for the opportunity to have Telikin computers be part of their centers".

Leslie M. Smith, SeniorNet Board Chairman and IBM Business Development Executive states, "using this latest technology, provided by Telikin to 'knock down the walls of senior isolation' and bridge the underserved digital gap significantly helps SeniorNet in fulfilling its mission. The Telikin partnership will enable us not only to increase our support but we are now able to provide specialized education to those that have mobility impairments. We are pleased and excited with this new partnership -- it will truly make a difference".
